WE ARE BLESSED

WE ARE BLESSED

During the month of December, Lex Brodie’s Tire of the Big Island conducted a Holiday Food Drive.  Lex Brodie’s Tire gave our customers a discount on their tires if they brought in non-perishable food items for the Hawaii island Food Basket. The Hilo and Pahoa Lex Brodie's locations collected 671 lbs of food while the Kona and Kamuela locations collected 511 lbs for a total well over 1100 lbs. We are so Thankful for all of our customers who came into our stores, purchased tires and donated towards this great cause.  We could not have done this without YOU!   Pictured in these photos are: L-R Food Basket employee Haunani Patti-Jean Richardson; Store Managers Daniel Perreira (Hilo) and Frank Amato (Pahoa) at the East Hawaii Food Basket location.  Pictured at the West side Food Basket: L-R   Robbie Johnston and Anita Tatum of Lex Brodie’s Tire along with Maile Pajimola and hardworking warehouse staffer John on the ri ... read more

10 Ways to Get Better Gas Mileage

Who doesn’t want better gas mileage these days? Maximizing your fuel efficiency will not only save you money, it is better for your vehicle and the environment! With some proper maintenance, and simple tips and tricks, you can make fewer trips to the pump, which will be friendlier on your car, and your wallet. Tires - The right tires for your driving conditions are important. For the best gas mileage choose low rolling resistance tires. These are designed to maximize fuel efficiency and performance by increasing the tire’s grip on the road. Tires for racing and oversized off-roading tires are designed only for specific uses, and shouldn’t be used as your vehicle’s primary tires. Tire Inflation- Proper tire inflation for driving conditions will promote a smoother, more efficient ride. Tire inflation should be watched more in temperature extremes, and should be checked only when the tires are cool and have not been driven on recently. Wheel Balance- I ... read more

How do I know when I need oil?

Most times your vehicles CHECK OIL LIGHT will come on -on your dash.  When this happens, it's usually time to take your vehicle into a shop and have your oil changed.  It's also wise to check your fluids before heading out on a long trip. If you're not sure how to check your oil or other fluids, this video will explain and show you how. If you heard our Lex Brodie's radio spots, you would know that it is normally a banter between two people named ANITA & JOSH. We are not radio personalities, but actually two employees of the company. Josh is the Managing Director of the company and Anita (that's me!) I'm the Marketing Director. It all started when a Holiday Greeting was recorded by Josh for one of the radio stations. Everyone just loved his voice-including the radio staff and a Star was Born. After awhile and 10 commercials later, the Big Boss wanted to change it up a little and add a woman's voice. I hesitantly volunteered and as they would say.... and the Rest is History. We try to keep it fun, real and informative and I really don't mind taking it for the team by being the FALL GIRL. As long as people pay attention to our radio spots, I'll keep recording new ones. Thank you for listening and being such great customers
