Lex Brody's in Kamuela is the place to go. I live in Waipio Valley so I am proactive with my vehicle for safety's sake. My jeep had two symptoms: Leak under the engine on the passenger side. I called my dealer. They couldn't see me for half a month, and their charge was 168, right off the bat, to do a diagnostics test. Thank goodness they didn't have an earlier appointment. I called Lex Brody and spoke with Josh. He said the location of the leak made him suspect that it was just condensation dripping from the air conditioner, nothing to worry about, but it could be leaking coolant and in that case it would need to be plugged. I asked for an estimate. Josh immediately said, no charge to tell you if it's just from condensation, about 70$ to fix a coolant leak, and they could book me in the next week. I immediately secured the appointment. During the week before the appointment, my jeep began making a skreaking noise the first time I would use my brakes in the morning, so when I went for my appointment, I asked Brody's if they had time to check my brakes and since I was already there, if they had time to do my inspection. No problem. The leak was caused by condensation. The skreaking noise was caused by some rust on my rotors but it wasn't a safety issue, just check them again the next time I changed my oil. Total charge? $52 for a brake check, a passed car inspection and peace of mind. For their expediency, expertise, and honest service, Lex Body in Kamuela has won my future business.

Prompt, efficient, experts. They service far more than tires. I had a leak checked, my brakes checked and my inspection done. Fair, honest prices. Friendly staff. If you are waiting for your vehicle there is a waiting room and a rest room on site. If you get wander lust, like I do, you can stroll over to the Parker Shopping Center adjacent to Lex Brody's. Kamuela's Lex Brody has won my business.

Might be that being rated so high is allowing for less quality services. I think if I go back for a oil change I will try to find a time when they aren’t so backed up. I normally use full synthetic oil but could only afford a blend at their price but considered the extra services (including safety inspection) was worth $100. I went in about 10:30 AM and they already had a double line out to the entrance. When I returned in 1.5 hours my car was finished. The main activities I went in for were completed and I have no complaint but I would not trust that the other items they checked off were performed or were done correctly. As I drove out of the shop my tire sensor light went on- the car went in with 35 lbs in all the tires. The invoice claimed that I had 32 lbs front and back. I went back and they had me pull around to the gauge and said the tires actually had 42 lbs on the front and back passenger side-let out some air so they were all supposedly 35 lbs and said the sensor would shut off down the road. It never turned off. Today because we were at Costco I had their technician check the tires-they were all at 26-27 lbs. He raised the tire pressure back to 35 lbs, double checked the sensor batteries and reset the tire sensor light. Problem solved but makes me wonder what’s going on at Brodies. I believe the extra services suffer when they are so packed. If I use them again I think I will go in when they are not so slammed.
